The Situation

A Series B developer tools company with a 35-person team was running its entire internal reporting operation manually. Every Monday morning, two operations staff spent a combined 12 hours pulling data from Linear, Notion, HubSpot, and Stripe formatting it into a weekly report, and distributing it to six department heads.

The process was the same every week without variation. It required no judgment, no creativity, and no human decision-making. But it consumed an entire working day for two talented people every single week without exception.

The Challenge

The four tools involved had incompatible data formats and no native integration with each other. The report itself had evolved organically over two years with different sections owned by different people, formatted differently, and pulling from different time ranges.

Any agent built here needed to understand the logic behind each report section, pull data from four separate sources simultaneously, handle formatting inconsistencies gracefully, and deliver a finished report that looked identical to what the team had always produced without a single manual step.

What We Built

VESSEL Ops was deployed as an automated reporting and ops intelligence agent running across Linear, Notion, HubSpot, and Stripe. Every Monday at 7am, the agent pulls the previous week's data from all four sources, formats it according to the established report structure, and distributes the finished document to all six department heads via Slack and email before anyone arrives at their desk.

Beyond weekly reports, the agent monitors key metrics continuously flagging anomalies in churn, sprint velocity, and revenue in real time, and surfacing them to the relevant department head the moment they occur.

The agent was trained on 12 months of historical reports and stress-tested across 8 edge case scenarios before going live.
